Çiğdem Mazlum Yıldız (Ankara, 1983) started working in Turkish Radio Television (TRT) as an assistant while still al student in Ankara University Department of Radio TV and Cinema. She also worked as a script writer for TRT’s educational films. During her last years as a student, she made her first documentary, about women in the city of Batman. Since her graduation, Yıldız has been working as a freelance film maker for feature films and documentaries. She was selected for “Atıf Yılmaz Film School” with her short, “Scent of Time” (Zamanın Kokusu), where she was educated to become a film director between 2009-2011. She worked with esteemed filmmaker Barış Pirhasan for script writing. In 2009 she directed two documentaries about Yezidi culture, “Güneşe Açılan Eller” and “Dema Bezar”, supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism General Directorate of Copyright and Cinema. In 2010, with the support of the same institution, she directed another documentary portraying relationship of a palace watch-maker with clocks and time, “Zamanın Manzarası”. She was in the screenplay writers team of the feature film, “Kurtuluş Son Durak” (Last Stop Salvation), written by Barış Pirhasan and directed by Yusuf Pirhasan. In 2011, she received script development support of the General Directorate of Cinema with her first feature film screenplay, “Yarını Hatırlıyorum”. Same script was a finalist in TURSAK Best First Screenplay Competition. She currently works on documentaries for Al Jazeera Turk as a director and producer. |

Sertaç Yıldız received his bachelor’s degree from Ankara University Faculty of Communications Department of Radio TV and Cinema. He received education in script writing in IFSAK short film workshops. He started working as freelance in feature films and documentaries. He worked as a writer in many TV programs, educational films and documentaries. In 2011, he directed the documentary “İstanbul’a Bir Şarkı”, supported by the Ministry of Culture. Again in 2011, he received script development support by the Ministry of Culture General Directorate of Cinema for his first feature film script, “Yarını Hatırlıyorum”. In 2012, same script became a finalist in TURSAK Best First Script Competition. He currently works as a director and producer for Al Jazeera Turk. |
