In the last century, the Greek community of Istanbul, had to leave their roots and the city where they were born. Some of them were deported and were only allowed to take luggage of 20 kilograms, whereas the others left the country because they had no one around anymore. They still had hopes for their new lives ahead, while leaving their historical roots. However, in Athens things didn’t turn out in the way they had hoped. There was only one way for salvation; The Kosmeteio Foundation. And they took shelter in that haven.
