Hasan Kalender studied fine arts in Dokuz Eylül University located in Izmir, Turkey, and finished a film-making course in New York Digital Film Academy. His documentary, “Remains from History”, was added into the archives of The Union of Documentary and Cinema Makers and was also screened in film festivals throughout Europe in the context of 1001 Documentary Film. His short film “The Last Breath” won three, and “The Last Decision”, supported by the Turkish Ministry of Culture, won 14 awards in various festivals. He further studied filmmaking in New York Digital Film Academy with a scholarship that he won from the Sinepark Short Film contest. He initially worked as an assistant director for three years, and later started shooting commercials. He supervised and edited the feature film “Güzel Günler Göreceğiz” in 2011. He won Best Editing Award in the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. Since 2008 he shoots commercials as a freelance director.
