Hüseyin URÇUK
Hüseyin Urçuk's (1983, Akhisar, Manisa) interest in theater blossomed during high school, leading him to pursue acting and directing roles in various private theaters. While maintaining his engineering career, Hüseyin ventured into photography and film production in 2012.
His debut experimental short film, Entropy, garnered multiple awards at film festivals in Türkiye and abroad. Subsequently, his short film script Barcode also received accolades at numerous festivals. In 2019, he contributed to the fictional short film Dragon as both an actor and screenwriter.
In 2020, he earned a second bachelor's degree in Radio, Television, and Cinema from Istanbul University's Faculty of Communication. The following year, he produced and directed the short documentary Isolation, focusing on the early days of the pandemic. In 2022, he created the experimental short film Clothesline, followed by the fictional short film Sewing Machine in 2023.
Committed to both theoretical and practical learning, he continues his education at Anadolu University's Department of Visual Communication Design while pursuing his engineering career and artistic endeavors in Fethiye, Muğla.
Hüseyin Urçuk's Clothesline received Special Mention at BTF's 18th Documentary and Short Film Competition in 2023 and Entropy (2017) and Dragon (2020) were finalists at the competition.
