A man is stuck on the border between two countries. He has jeopardised his whole livelihood by spending the last money he had on a herd of cows that he awaits coming from the war torn neighbouring country. Amidst the sounds of explosions and distressing announcements made by the border authorities, the man’s hopeful waiting for the cows, turns into the fear of losing everything.

Mahsum TAŞKIN
Mahsum Taşkın (Şırnak, 1994) graduated from Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty in 2018. He wrote and directed his first short film, "Alf Leila Wa Leila / Binbir Gece," in 2020. This film earned him an award at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. In addition to winning numerous other awards, it was selected for the main competition at many significant national and international festivals. His second short film, "Garan," was selected for the Goshort Film Festival, Medfilm Festival, Kaohsiung FF, Landshut Short FF, and the Brussels International Short FF. In 2023, his first feature-length project was selected for the Berlinale Talent Project Marketing, where it won the Jury Highlight Award. The script for this project has been completed, and he plans to apply for funding to the General Directorate of Cinema in 2025.
